Coloured gemstones provide a palate of vivid colours to choose from and are a wonderful way to add individuality to an engagement ring. As engagement rings are worn every day the durability of a stone is of prime importance. Fortunately, some of the most beautiful and vibrantly coloured stones are also the most durable. Sapphires come in a rainbow of colours, including the sought-after cornflower-blue and pink that are most widely seen. Spinel offers hues of deep blue and vivid pink to red, while coloured diamonds can be found in shades from pale champagne through to deep cognac brown and in fancy yellow, blue or pink colours. EMERALD AND ROSE GOLD ENGAGEMENT RING
This rose gold engagement ring is set with a bright green emerald. The distinctive vivid green colour of emerald makes it one of the most popular coloured gemstones for engagement rings. Rose gold has a beautiful warmth that pairs particularly well with coloured stones. Emerald and rose gold is an especially striking combination. This coloured gemstone engagement ring was made to commission and is a variation on our four-claw engagement ring, which can be made with round, oval, square or emerald-cut gems.
PARAIBA TOURMALINE ENGAGEMENT RING
Paraiba tourmaline is a rare gemstone with a bright green/blue colour. Its distinctive pacific blue shade makes this a beautiful coloured gemstone for engagement rings. The blue coloured engagement ring shown here was made to commission for a customer who lives in Hawaii and wanted a ring the colour of the ocean. ROSE GOLD AND PARAIBA TOURMALINE ENGAGEMENT RING
This blue Paraiba tourmaline and rose gold engagement ring is our ‘Twist’ ring design. Paraiba tourmaline has a spectacular, almost neon-bright blue colour. BLUE SPINEL ENGAGEMENT RING
The 'Balance' engagement ring seen here is set with a beautiful royal blue spinel. Spinel is less widely known than sapphire, ruby or emerald, but its rich colour, excellent durability and brilliant sparkle make spinel one of the best coloured gemstone for engagement rings. Spinel is found in vibrant hues from deep blue to violet, pink, orange and vivid red. Coloured gemstones like spinel are perfectly suited to a minimal, modern engagement ring design such as this. The soft grey tone of 18-carat white gold provides an understated backdrop to the richly coloured gem.
