Inhorgenta 2022

While there are many jewellery trade shows that offer all sorts, Inhorgenta is a must every year for McCauls. Held in Munich over a few days, hundreds of exhibitors assemble there to trade in diamonds and coloured gemstones, along with every tool a jeweller could need. This year, our focus was on gems…

When it comes to designing and creating rings, for us it often starts with the stone, as we favour unusual shapes and unique cuts. All of the stones below are available to create your ideal piece of jewellery, to wear as an every day statement or a contemporary engagement ring.

First up from left to right we have a beautiful 2.55 carat fancy cut Paraiba Tourmaline, a 2.31 carat pear shape Rose colour Tourmaline and a 1.71 carat kite shape Aquamarine.

Pearls are always hard to resist and this year we got several pairs of pearls, just waiting to be made into our stunning pearl drop earrings. We also got a beautiful string of cultured pearls, pictured below.  McCaul Inhorgenta gemstones, cultured pearls

We are big fans of Paraiba Tourmalines and below is a selection of some we got, both faceted and cabochon cut. The greens and blues that are found in these stones, lend themselves to looking excellent against white, yellow and rose gold.

Although we often find that Opals are difficult to photograph, the colours in this 5.99 carat Black Opal shone through with some sun light, showing just how vibrant they can be. It’s hard to believe that this stone looks even better in person.

If any of these stones catch your eye and you would like to discuss how they could be made into your next piece of beloved jewellery, please contact us and we would be happy to talk you through the process. Appointments are available in our London Atelier and our Dublin workshop.
