Rose gold and alexandrite Twist engagement ring

An elegant and modern rose gold and alexandrite Twist engagement ring, made as a recent commission. The Twist engagement ring is hand-forged from 18-carat rose gold bar and is one of our signature designs. Forged rose gold wraps around the finger to form a ring band, which tapers to a delicately pointed flick at one end. At the other end a rose gold bezel surrounds a dusky blue rose-cut pear alexandrite. This striking colour combination makes this a very special ring.

Alexandrite is a rare form of chrysoberyl, which appears to change colour when seen in different lights. In daylight it appears blue-green while under incandescent light it looks ruby red. This seemingly magical colour change is really just a trick of the light. Chromium traces in the stone cause it to absorb light from the yellow and blue spectrum but reflect green and red. As the colour spectrum of daylight is quite different to that of incandescent light, changing between these two light sources creates the illusion of the alexandrite changing colour.



Our Twist engagement rings can be paired with a fitted wedding band, which is hand-forged to fit the curve of the ring perfectly. Twist wedding bands can be made from 18-carat gold or platinum and either left plain or set with diamonds, as seen in the example from our collection above.
