Carved yellow gold and amethyst cocktail ring

The sculptural satin-finished curves of this ring compliment the angular fancy-cut amethyst. This hand-carved yellow gold and amethyst cocktail ring is new to our collection and will shortly be on display in our window.

As with all of the pieces in our Carve series, this ring is a unique, hand-carved creation designed to accommodate a one-of-a-kind fancy cut coloured stone; in this case a deep purple 2.9 carat amethyst.



Each Carve ring is made using a similar process.  We begin by designing on paper, sketching out variations of the form to determine the perfect proportions and shape to suit the stone.  The form is then carved by hand from a block of wax.  This process allows us to refine the lines of the ring before it is cast in 18 carat yellow gold.

The sculpted curves of the ring create a sense of flow around the form. Sharp angles are balanced with gently flowing planes of brushed gold, which lend a sense of softness to this substantial piece.
