Forged platinum cocktail ring commission

Making bold, eye-catching cocktail rings like this makes it all worthwhile for us. This very special creation is one of our more unusual recent commissions. Made from platinum this unique cocktail ring is pave set with white diamonds and incorporates several of our client's own stones.

The ring was made by hand-forging platinum bar. First the platinum was milled down to form 2.9mm square wire. It was then forged by hand, which involves hammering the metal methodically down to taper it in thickness. The platinum was then formed into the basic ring shape you can see below.

After bending and soldering the ends to form the final shape, holes were drilled for each of the diamonds. The diamonds taper in size from 1.8mm down to 1.1mm and together total over one carat. Each diamond was set by hand under a microscope for accuracy and precision.
